The utility of cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene has been tested for the identification of three species of forensically important flesh flies of the genus Parasarcophaga (Dipera: Sarcophagidae). A 450 bp fragment of the COI gene has been sequenced for 12 specimens, representing three species of Genus Parasarcophaga. Nucleotide divergences were calculated using Tamura 3 Parameter distance model. For graphical display of the patterns of divergence among the species Neighbor-joining and Parsimonious trees were also made using this software. Musca autumnalis was taken as outgroup in the phylogenetic analysis. Phylogenetic analysis of the sequenced segments showed that all sarcophagid specimens were properly assigned into three species, which indicated the possibility of separating congeneric species with the help of short fragmentsKeywords

Ayurvedic system of medicine constituting the use of plants, spirituality and the natural environment , has been the source of healing for the people since millennia. The precious indigenous knowledge, when supplemented and validated by the late scientific insights, can offer new holistic models of sustainable development that are economically, environmentally and socially acceptable. The ethno-medicinal information provides a base to new compound with active principles for phyto-chemical, pharmacognostical, pharmacological and clinical research. The study was planned to find out the ethno-medicinal importance of medicinal plants used by Gujjar tribes in the Shivalik Hills of Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Comparative analysis of Ethno-medicinal uses with Ayurvedic literature reveals that 69.16% of the tribal indications are supported by classical evidences.

Commercially available agricultural machines are not matching with standards which affect the performances. Many times, commercially available rigid cultivator tines used in tractor drawn cultivator do not match in dimensions as given in respective BIS code. A study conducted in Udaipur, Rajasthan revealed that out of four such tines only one tine T1 fulfilled the requirement of BIS code 7565:1975 whereas maximum deviation was observed for tine T2.Keywords

Purpose: This study empirically examines the relationship between high performance work-based practices (HPWBP) and two employee outcomes–employee satisfaction & productivity in IT companies. Design/Methodology: A model is developed to examine the direct effects of independent variable on dependent variables. A survey was conducted on 50 HR professionals of eight IT companies in Delhi & NCR. Findings: It was found that HPWBP have a positive relationship with employee satisfaction and productivity. However, employee’s satisfaction also had a positive relationship with productivity. Research Implications: HPWBSP significantly increases employee satisfaction and productivity. However, employee satisfaction was also found to increase employee productivity. High performance work based practices are influenced by the set of innovative HR practices and for the organization to gain competitive advantage and act globally, mangers must incorporate these practices to improve employee performance. Keywords

A study was conducted to optimize machine and operational parameters for the threshing of chickpea seeds using a portable solar-operated plot thresher. Experiments were conducted at different levels of independent parameters, viz. cylinder speed (8, 10, 12 m/s), concave clearance (10, 12, 14 mm) and concave grate clearance (8, 9, 10 mm). Dependent parameters such as threshing efficiency, cleaning efficiency, seed damage, threshing capacity, power consumption and seed germination were assessed. Face-centered central composite design was used for experimental design, result analysis and optimization using Design-Expert 11.1.0.1 software package. The optimized combination for threshing of chickpea seeds was found to be cylinder speed (10 m/s), concave clearance (14 mm) and concave grate clearance (9 mm). Keywords
